– Astor Place Theatre – New York Part-Time Position
Blue Man Group New York at the Astor Place Theater is seeking a part-time Deck 1 crew member within the Props department.
Deck crew members are responsible for a variety of duties within the department and company. Responsibilities include, performing preset duties, executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Deck crew members regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. This position also requires frequent stair usage, and periodic crouching/crawling. Part-time crew members are responsible for clear communication of notes amongst the Stage Manager, the Deck Lead, and the Props Supervisor. Experience as a member of a backstage run crew in a theatrical production is preferred. This position reports directly to the Props Supervisor.
This is a part-time, hourly position, and candidates must have regular weekend availability. Part-Time crew members must be flexible and available for shows during nights, weekends, and the holiday and spring break seasons. The hourly rate for this position is $26. There will also be occasional need for weekday maintenance calls as needed. All employees are encouraged to attend full company meetings.
